Dyan Wilson 1956 - 2009
Long term ARC supporters will already know about the tragic death from leukaemia in April 2009 of Dyan, the founder, mainstay and inspirational spirit of ARC. Her illness was only diagnosed in November, and courageously fought. This came as a great shock to many.
At just 53 Dyan’s achievements were enormous. Not only did she conceive and build ARC into a viable charity in just 8 years, rescuing and rehoming hundreds of dogs, but she also qualified as a nutritionist, gained a first class degree, ran her own naturopathic practice of high repute, worked as a university lecturer, nurtured a large and motley collection of rescue animals and followed a spiritual practice. All of this while bringing up her two adored sons, Oliver and Tom.
Everyone who met Dyan will remember with great fondness her passionate commitment to ARC, her kindness, patience and calm air of serenity even in the most pressurised doggy situations. We will all miss her more than words can say and are committed to continuing ARC’s mission in her memory.
